Oh.My.Goodness.
I feel like I have been gone for so long from my original baby, nabilaraine.com. I have been over on youtube making videos during the past couple of months. It honestly has just been slightly easier to keep up with while I was in school. But I am back here to the blogging life. 😊
This post will be a quick update on what I have been up to and what is to come, Insha’Allah.
So, I graduated from college this past May.
I am now an alumna of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of the Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Woot Woot! I thank God for getting me through and for the journey.

Summer Time
Over the summer I worked at the University of Pennsylvania in a TRIO program that guided underserved black youth. It was honestly a great experience. It was my first time working with high school aged students and of course it was an interesting time. High schoolers always seem to have things going on. They are soon to be young adults but they are truly still kids at heart. We did a lot of fun activities like self-care night, a battle of the sexes game (where they asked each other questions that they really wanted to know about the opposite sex), and an Olympics between the different groups.
We did a scavenger hunt around campus and I wish you all could have seen those kids take off! It was hilarious; they were so competitive. But honestly, all and all, I for sure miss the kids and I hope that they continue to be the great humans that they are.
For their end of the summer trip, the kids and tutor counselors did a college tour. We visited about 5 colleges through the week, including Colgate University, the University of Buffalo (which the kids really liked), University of Scranton, and a couple others. We ended the week with an amazing trip to Niagra Falls. Y’all, it was so beautiful! Masha’Allah.

Present
Now, I somehow made my way to New York. I am going for my graduate degree in Psychological Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling. I have been here for about three weeks now and it has already been a rollercoaster. There have definitely been many emotions that I gone through and honestly, I am still getting used to it all. Being in a new state, attending a new school, starting a new job, and balancing my personal life, is all so new and fresh.
I recorded a quick vlog to show my journey to New York.
I have a couple of videos to show of the first week of me here in my new home. So be sure to stay tuned for that. I plan on updating with a blog on my progress in grad school and exploration of New York every two weeks. Thanks so much for reading and I hope that I can share this with me!
With lots of love and excitement,
Sally ♡
