Hello queens and kings! Welcome back to nabilaraine.com 😊 Today I will be showing you all how I make whipped shea butter with a mango scent. The smell is to die for!
What you will need:
Measurements are dependent on how much whipped shea butter you want to make. I usually just wing it but these measurements are for your convenience. My container was a little bigger so these measurements did not completely fill it up, which is fine.
Oils and Butters
1 cup of Pure African Shea Butter/ 1/4 of the smaller container of Shea Butter
1/2 cup of Sweet Almond Oil
1 tbs of Golden Jojoba Oil
Essential Oils
40 drops of Mango Oil
25 drops of Tea Tree Oil
25 drops of Peppermint Oil
Tools
Electric Blender or Whisk (I brought my mixer from Walmart for about $7 🙂)
Medium Sized Mixing Bowl
Microwaveable Bowl
Glass Container
Spoon or Fork
What To Do:
- Scoop your desired amount of shea butter into a microwave safe bowl.
- Put your shea butter into the microwave until it is melted. For me, it took 1 minute and 30 seconds, but every microwave is different so make sure you watch it while it heats up.
- Add your melted shea butter into a medium-sized mixing bowl, along with your jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and any other oils you decide to add.
- Next, add in your desired amount of essential oils. The number of drops all depends on how strong you would like your whipped shea butter to smell. The more drops the stronger it will smell. Recommendation: Sparely put in the tea tree and peppermint essential oils because they have a strong scent and they have a tingly effect (which we don’t want too much of.)
- Mix, Mix, Mix!
- Put your mixing bowl into the refrigerator for about an hour, so it can become a solid. I personally put it in the freezer for 30 minutes because I wanted it to be quicker. Be sure to check every 10 minutes or so to make sure it does not freeze if you decide to use this option.
- Now, it’s time to whisk away! You should whisk until the consistency of the whipped shea butter is nice and creamy.
- After it reaches your desired consistency, move it into your glass jar, so it can be ready to use. You can either scoop it in your jar (which is the easiest.) Or if you would like it to be more aesthetically pleasing you can put it in a sandwich bag, cut one edge off, and then squeeze it into the jar (this will give you a more uniform look but it is more time-consuming.)
- Enjoy your new DIY Whipped Mango Shea Butter! Enjoy the scent and the amazing moisture it will bring to your skin and hair!
